A new initiative in Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese!

The Diocese of Buffalo is pleased to announce the Millennial Milestones Project facilitated by the departments of Lifelong Faith Formation and Youth & Young Adult Ministry. The Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo is providing $80,000 of grant funding to support this project, designed to help the diocese and its parish communities engage young adult Catholics (ages 18 to 35) more effectively in the Church. The project formally began with a kickoff conference in January 2010 and will extend through late summer/fall of 2011.

The Millennial Milestones Project offers training, resources and parish grants to strengthen young adult ministry.  Many clergy and parish leaders of faith formation, young adult ministry, baptismal & marriage preparation, etc. attended the kickoff conference in January which provided knowledge and tools to create solutions within parish life that will connect with young adult Catholics. Parishes also learned about a grant funding opportunity through the Foundation that can be used to craft a new initiative in young adult ministry related to one of five key milestones in the lives of young adults:

  • post-Confirmation
  • college days
  • adult Confirmation
  • marriage preparation
  • infant Baptism
